A while ago, a tiny restaurant (I mean really tiny; two tables) opened in Huntington Station called Yummy Food. I wanted to try it for lunch but never got around to it until a friend told me how great the place is. It is mostly Japanese food but with a focus on healthy eating with fresh ingredients. Not wasting any time, I stopped in their for lunch today and was treated royally by the owner, John. He welcomed me and once he found out it was my first time there, he offered samples and made suggestions on what to try. I put myself in his hands and went with the spicy chicken box. It comes with Miso Soup, California Roll, spicy chicken mixed with fresh vegetables and rice. Everything was absolutely delicious! So much so that I am writing this entry as I am finishing my lunch! I also enjoyed the little tastes that John provided while I waited for my lunch (everything is prepared fresh to order). I tried a drink that was a cross between a tea and a juice that had ginger and cinnamon in it; it was very tasty and refreshing. The vegetable sushi roll had fresh vegetables and can be prepared with egg or without. I tried it with the egg and found it to be delicious. But I really enjoyed the Soy Soba Noodles; hot, fresh and with a little spice (all dishes can be prepared to your heat tolerance). I think I am going back for dinner!
